Special Guest Juror: Nancy Barr, Associate Curator, Department of Prints, Drawings and Photographs- Detroit Institute of Arts
Nancy Barr is a specialist in modernist and contemporary photography. A native of Detroit, Michigan, she earned degrees in photography and art history from the College for Creative Studies, Detroit, and Wayne State University, Detroit. Barr worked with collections at Wayne State University and the Detroit Historical Museum before joining the curatorial staff at the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) in 1993 where she is an associate curator in the department of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs. Barr has organized exhibitions at the International Center for Photography, New York, and the Center for Photography, Woodstock, and has curated over 25 exhibitions of photography for the DIA including the upcoming exhibition Detroit Revealed: Photographs 2000-2010. In addition to her work for the DIA, she has served on the faculties at the College for Creative Studies, Detroit, and the University of Michigan, Dearborn.

Detroit Center for Contemporary Photography is hosting its first Annual Juried Exhibition, an open call for photographic work exploring any theme.
